What do we believe?

The team here at ASD Community Support believe that every life is precious and that every child (with or without autism) is able and has the right to learn and experience a good quality of life.

We really want the best for your child.

Our Mission

At ASD Community Support, we help children reach their full potential through early intervention.

We support families by understanding their needs, guiding NDIS funding applications, and working together to achieve their goals.

Your success is our passion, and we celebrate every milestone with you.

Our Mission

Understanding Autism

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), often referred to simply as autism, profoundly impacts an individual’s communication and interaction with others, alongside their perception of the world. Recognized as a neurobiologically-based developmental disability, autism typically manifests within the first three years of a child’s life, shaping their social, communicative, and cognitive development in distinctive ways.

Our Services

Through evidence-based intervention programs grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, we aim to unlock each child’s potential, fostering growth and independence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Appointment availability

We schedule the therapy sessions based on your availability. You can (02) 6181 0974 or 0406624078 or send us an email to [email protected]

to schedule sessions.

How can I get started?

To begin your journey with us:

1. Book a free consultation (optional) – Discuss your child’s needs with our team

2. Complete service agreement – Formalise your participation

3. Initial assessment – We’ll evaluate your child’s strengths and needs

4. Begin ongoing therapy sessions – Start regular, tailored intervention

How long are the sessions?

The initial assessment includes a 60-minute interview with parents or caregivers and a 120-minute in-person assessment with the child.

Ongoing therapy sessions typically start at 2 hours per session. For younger children, we may recommend beginning with 1-hour or 1.5-hour sessions to ensure comfort and engagement. To maintain therapy intensity, we advise a minimum of two sessions per week.

After the initial assessment, we design individualised programs based on the assessment results, parental input, and NDIS goals for the ongoing therapy.

How do I schedule an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, you can call our office, or send us an email. Our admin coordinator will work with you to schedule an initial consultation with one of our therapists

Do I need a referral?

A referral is not necessary, we welcome all patients to seek our services.

Can I claim my sessions through NDIS funding?

Yes, if your NDIS plan includes Capacity Building Support under the subcategory Improved Daily Living, you can use your funding for our services.

If your plan does not include this category, you will need to cover the cost privately. We recommend checking your NDIS plan or contacting your planner manager to discuss potential adjustments if needed.

What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?

We require 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or appointment changes. This advance notice helps us manage our schedule effectively and offer available slots to other clients.

If you cancel or reschedule with more than 24 hours’ notice:

The original session fee will apply, but we will provide a credit for a make-up session. This credit must be used within three months of the original appointment date.

For late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) or “no show”:

The full session fee will be charged. We can only waive this fee if you provide a valid medical certificate.

While we understand that life events can intervene, please note that regular attendance is essential for achieving the best possible therapy outcomes.

How can I pay?

For NDIS Participants:

If you are self-managing your NDIS funds, we will email your invoice directly to you. You can then process payment and submit your claim through the NDIS portal.

For participants using plan management, we send invoices directly to your nominated plan manager. They will process payment using your approved NDIS funding.

For Private Clients:

We accept payment via bank transfer or credit card.
